Default R/D SoO Snow Replacer

Concept, bring EoE to SoOSC and deal holy damage to Fendi from outside of his spell range with a flatbow while he's locked in by snows.

Pretty much my first time using my Ranger with a bow (prefer daggers) so I don't know much about how to do good damage as a ranger in the first place. So bar might be pretty messed up hence why I'm posting it here.

Bar:
ELITE|Triple Shot|Dual Shot|FREE|Heart of Holy Flame|Ebon Escape|I Am Unstoppable|Edge of Extinction

Haven't really decided elite yet, but I tested with Experts Dexterity+. Which should deal 80+DPS vs Fendi and Soul of Fendi. But if you use a Slice of Pumpkin Pie+BU+Glass Arrows with attributes at 12+1+3 Mark, 11+1 Exp, 6+1 Beast Mastery you could probably pull out even more DPS from it. And that's without counting EoE in to this.

Anyhow, thoughts and comments appriciated.

bodyblocking is already a problem for pugs, People tend to run with 1-4 RoJ's also maybe even an orders necro

It's a good concept but 2x RoJ on one Monk/Mesmer alone would outdamage, besides Rojs and Orders provide support too would always be superior

Mobs die too fast for EoE to matter since they die simutaneously

Actually gave this a little more thought. And using Glass Arrows + Undead Grip, perhaps some other modifications in build. DPS could go up towards 130-140 at least I think. Should outDPS RoJ then.

did a run last night with 2 R/D "spikers", nothing special... damage wasn't as good, they ran prepared shot, HoHF, Sundering attack, Penetrating attack

Spike was slow, one died before getting to fendi, other kept losing alot of health and drawing aggro away, it's not as effective as good be

Yeah, been doing a few runs with some myself. That said I haven't really been impressed by their builds. But in short I'm by now doubting you can get enough DPS from one of them for it to be worth it. And they certainly don't get a spot over utility. They work okey though and with a vs undead bow and a more polished build they would be worth bringing over a lesser player at least.

not to revive a dead thread and whatnot, but a combination of a RoJ and a R/D can work really well. If the R/D has decent damage and knows what they are doing, they can spike down Fendi's Soul in 2 rotations. Trip Shot and similar skills are a waste though. Prep shot, Sundering and it's copy are much better alternatives.

Yeah, there are better builds then this out there. This is just an early concept. I think I know the duo you're referring to since I helped polish and refine their build, adding synergy between the monk and ranger as well as helping the ranger deal some extra damage.

The R/D build I run works just perfectly and gives faster clears. There's just a big difference if inexperienced players try to go R/D. So failing with R/D's has nothing to do with R/D being useless.
